Do you enjoy helping others? Our Whidbey Island SHIBA team is looking  for new volunteers to serve in a variety of positions.

What is SHIBA?  State-wide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors, a service of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner, offers free Medicare education and counseling.   Volunteer positions open today:

  • Medicare Counseling
  • Community Outreach
  • Public Presentations (These are all virtual/online for the time being)
  • Administrative and Clerical Support
  • Zoom Moderator
  • Special Projects

This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and make a real difference in the community.  Feel you do not have the tools to offer Medicare counseling?  Think your data entry skills are a little rusty?  Do not worry!  Volunteers who offer Medicare counseling receive training from national and state agencies. In all cases, for all positions, you will work with more seasoned volunteers who provide support and who are rooting for your success.

SHIBA and its volunteers do not sell/endorse any insurance product or conduct market research, and we’re not affiliated with any insurance companies.
