Why I Volunteer…

“I started volunteering to fill my time with something productive. I get out of it so much more than I put in.  I love that I’m able to use my skills to help people who need it.  I volunteer for the medical lending library in Oak Harbor one day a week, I deliver Meals on Wheels one day every other week, and I occasionally drive Medicaid patients to medical appointments.  Working with the clients is so rewarding.” – Kirstin Wallin

“I volunteer because it’s fun and I enjoy helping people.” Anna Elliott (Anna is showing her paintings in our Oak Harbor office. She has been painting since her 20s.  She’s offering her paintings, if you see one you like, for a donation to ISR).

Our volunteers help ISR in so many ways for so many reasons, but they share something in common:  they care and enjoy helping people.  We couldn’t do all we do without our volunteers.  Thank you to all our volunteers and volunteers everywhere!  Not all heroes wear capes, but all volunteers are heroes!
