Susan Janow

HR Manager/Executive Assistant

Susan received her Bachelor of Arts in Family Community Services from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Education from Seattle University specializing in Student Development Administration. Susan is the Executive Assistant at Island Senior Resources, reporting to the Executive Director. She organizes special projects for the executive team and the board of directors. Susan also supports all employees in a human resources capacity. As the HR point person, she maintains all employee documentation, provides information on policy and procedure to staff, manages the hiring process, implements new processes, and communicates the resources and benefits available to employees.

Before joining ISR, Susan worked for many years in higher education, including a position as a career counselor at Seattle University, an academic advisor at several regional institutions (North Seattle College, University of Washington, and Cascadia College), and a registrar at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts. Susan also worked in the non-profit sector as a youth employment case worker with the City of Seattle, a volunteer coordinator at Harborview Medical Center, and operations at Partners for Youth Empowerment.
