Mel Watson
Directo, Aging and Disability Resources
Mel serves at Island Senior Resources as the Director of Aging and Disabilities Resources. Mel is responsible for the customization, analysis, and management of ISR’s CRM, is a Case Manager for the ISR Helps Program, and leads the Family Caregiver Support Group Program.
Mel’s role at Island Senior Resources began in 2013 as Activities Coordinator for the Time Together Adult Day Program and then as Program Coordinator Director of Adult Day Services. Her expertise in case work with clients is evidence-based and from in-practice experience. Through Mel’s breadth of background within and beyond ISR, she moves fluidly throughout the organization bringing creative and technical expertise to improve ISR’s systems and outreach efforts.
Mel received the Queen’s Trust Award for Young Australians, multiple Most Outstanding Instrumentalist awards, and was granted Artist of Extraordinary Ability status in the science and arts categories to live and work in the United States. Mel has 25 years of experience directing two Independent Record Labels in two countries, whose mission included being in creative support of grassroots, compassion-driven, nonprofit organizations, collaborating on innovative projects that promoted equality, equity, and inclusivity.
