Meals on Wheels

Island Senior Resources’ Meals on Wheels program delivers fresh, nutritious meals to older adults and adults with disabilities throughout Island County.

The program offers:

  • Nutritious, well-balanced meals that provide one-third of daily nutritional needs for older adults, with many meals made from scratch.
  • Sugar-free and gluten-free meal options.
  • Midday home delivery by caring volunteers.
  • Wellness check-ins and connections to helpful resources.
  • Meaningful social connection and regular contact.
  • Short-term and ongoing meal support.
  • 5-7 meals each week for eligible participants. We deliver a hot meal and frozen meal every Monday and Wednesday, and a hot meal and two frozen meals every Friday.

Eligibility (You must meet all of these requirements):

  • 60 years of age or older
  • And homebound (unable to leave your home without assistance)
  • And unable to prepare meals, difficulty performing activities like bathing, dressing, or shopping
  • And do not have an informal support system.

Community Meals

More than a meal, our community dining program brings people together. Join us at one of five locations for nutritious food, meaningful connections, and a welcoming environment where everyone is welcome. Meals are offered by donation, and no one is turned away.

Meal locations are closed on holidays

  • Everyone is welcome to join us for Community Meals.
  • Meals are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis, and no one is turned away for inability to contribute.
  • Donations help us continue providing nutritious meals and welcoming spaces throughout the community.

Suggested Donations

  • Ages 60+: $8
  • Under 60: $10

Support the Program

  • The actual cost of each meal is $12.50. If you are able, consider contributing the full cost to help ensure meals remain available to everyone who needs them.

Frozen Take-Out Meals

Our frozen take-out meals make it easy to keep healthy, satisfying meals on hand. Prepared in our kitchen and available for pickup at select locations throughout Island County, these meals offer a convenient option for busy days, limited mobility, or times when cooking isn’t possible.

You must contact us ahead of time to arrange pick-up of frozen meals.

Liquid Nutritional Supplements

For individuals with increased nutritional needs, liquid nutritional supplements can help support overall health and well-being. Supplements are available by the case with a doctor’s prescription.

Eligibility & Cost

  • Doctor’s prescription required
  • Available by the case (24 per case)
  • Suggested donation: $35 per case
  • Participants must live independently and not in a residential care setting, such as assisted living, an adult family home, or a nursing facility

Senior Farmer’s Market Debit Cards

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is a win-win for seniors and local farmers. The program helps eligible older adults access fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables while supporting the farmers and markets that strengthen our local food system.
