It’s Not Too Late for Flu Shots

A Message from Island County Public Health Department:
Flu activity is definitely on the rise in Washington. The state is currently at a moderate level that will only continue to go up from here.
It is not too late to get vaccinated; everyone should receive their annual flu shot, and specifically, adults 65 and older are strongly advised to get a high-dose or adjuvanted vaccine for the best protection against severe illness.
While the shot may not be perfect, it has been shown to decrease the likelihood of severe illness and hospitalization. We also strongly recommended masking in public spaces, good hand hygiene, and staying home if sick.
