Information Systems Administrator

David received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of British Columbia, a Photogrammetric Engineering Diploma (now called Geomatics), and a Geographical Information Systems Advanced Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. David is the Information Systems Administrator for Island Senior Resources, reporting to the Finance Director. His responsibilities include troubleshooting technology issues, maintaining essential systems, and increasing the organization’s online security. David monitors the evolving technology field, looking for opportunities for ISR to become more efficient and cost-effective. He also documents system processes and helps staff learn the technology ISR uses.

Before joining Island Senior Resources, David spent over thirty years in software engineering. David has worked for McElhanney Geosurveys as a digital cartographer, Squirrel Systems testing point-of-sale software, Useless Bay G&CC as a Member Services Manager, and worked for 23 years at Microsoft. During that time, David managed various quality assurance teams on a wide range of products, eventually becoming a Test Manager with scope over multiple products and quality teams.
